Automotive Remanufacturing Case Study

Scintam were able to successfully demonstrate our technology during a case study for a major European automotive remanufacturing client. Scintam was able to remove hardened dowel pins in blind holes from cast automotive components. This demonstration enables Scintam to showcase how our technology could be used to reduce scrap, improving sustainability, and reducing costs in the automotive sector.

These components could not be removed using conventional methods, as the processing proved to be time consuming, costly and had high risk of damaging parts. The benefits of Scintam’s technology mean that these pins could be easily removed without thermal cycling, chemicals, or mechanical
